Most calcium supplements stop at the mineral. This one is designed around what happens after you swallow it — which is where vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 earn their place on the label.

Why 500 mg of calcium and not 1000

Calcium absorption drops as a single dose gets larger; splitting intake across the day is standard practice. ICMR-NIN’s 1000 mg RDA also assumes food is contributing — dairy, ragi, sesame, greens. This supplement is designed to be half of that equation, not all of it.

Why MK-7 rather than MK-4

MK-7 is the long-chain menaquinone form of vitamin K2. It stays in circulation considerably longer than MK-4, which is what makes a single 55 mcg dose once a day a sensible design rather than a token inclusion.

Why the vitamin D is exactly 600 IU

Because that is the number. ICMR-NIN’s 2020 RDA for vitamin D in Indian adults is 600 IU (15 mcg) per day. We did not round it up to look impressive, and we did not round it down to save cost.

Questions we would ask before buying this.

Is 500 mg of calcium enough?
It is half the Indian RDA, by design. Absorption falls off as a single calcium dose gets bigger, and ICMR-NIN’s 1000 mg figure assumes your food is contributing. If your diet is genuinely low in dairy and greens, talk to a doctor about whether you need more — do not simply double the tablets.
What does K2 actually do here?
Vitamin K contributes to the maintenance of normal bones. In plain terms, it is involved in activating the proteins that handle calcium in bone tissue. That is a function statement, and it is as far as the evidence lets us go.
Can I take this with a separate vitamin D supplement?
Check the total first. This already provides 600 IU, which is the full Indian RDA for an adult. Stacking another high-dose D on top without a blood test is guesswork, and vitamin D is fat-soluble — it accumulates.
I am on a blood thinner. Can I take this?
Ask your doctor before you do. Vitamin K interacts with warfarin and similar anticoagulants. This is not a reason to panic; it is a reason to have the conversation.
When will I feel nothing yet?
Always, honestly. Bone density does not announce itself. This is a product you take because the arithmetic of the next thirty years is worth respecting, not because Tuesday will feel different.
Does the moringa and alfalfa do anything?
They are traditional plant additions carrying trace minerals and are declared on the pack. We are not going to build a claim on them — the calcium, D3, K2, magnesium and zinc are the formula; the botanicals are company.
Is it vegetarian?
